Dear New Orleans, the ongoing social collection of "Love Letters to the City" is coming to New York City.

Seen 1.5 million times per month, Dear New Orleans and its photographers have photographed Drew Brees, Dr. John, Mayor Landrieu and thousands of people who've lived and loved, laughed and played in New Orleans.

A social innovation conference in New Orleans the week of Jazz Fest called Second Line is underwriting a portion of our expenses to make it possible for photos to be only $10.00 per person.

Check out
www.secondline.com and tell them they're awesome.

One keg of Kelso Brewing will be on hand for people who participate as well each night until they run dry.

Think hard y'all. What's your love note to New Orleans?

Sun, Feb 27 at 6 pm
Leonard Nimoy Thalia
$25; Member $21; 30 & Under $15

A behind-the-scenes look at how Nine Lives, a multi-voice biography of New Orleans, is being made into a musical, with performances and discussion by author Dan Baum (who reported on post-Katrina New Orleans for The New Yorker), songwriter Paul Sanchez, lyricist/book writer Colman DeKay, singer Arsene DeLay, singer Deborah Davis, and Tony Award-winning actor Michael Cerveris (In the Next Room-or the Vibrator Play, Fringe).

"Baum's technique brings to mind Robert Altman's film Nashville...He adroitly moves his subjects through parades, prison, divorces, sex changes, fancy balls and gun brawls" - The Washington Post

HOTG: "Heads Up NYC - Willie West is on the way"

If you're in the New York City area, here's your chance to catch one of HOTG's great featured artists, Willie West, on February 26 at Southpaw in Brooklyn. It's his first NYC performance. For details, hit the poster to enlarge or go for the Southpaw link. His cameo at the Ponderosa Stomp was just a taste. This show will be the the real deal. Enjoy. Wish I could be there.
